wd45 hand clutch

I took the inspection plate off and looked inside at the clutch and it's oil covered and I suspect it to be a dry clutch. Anyone know for sure and if it's a dry clutch, how do I get at it? My shop manual does not have a wd45 hand clutch instructions in oit.

thanks, that takes a lot off my mind. The motor is out and it's going back together with flat top pistons and the deck cut .010. Does anyone know how much horsepower that'll make it?

On the wet clutch (hand clutch) work thru the cover hole, and use .030 feeler guage. You should have .030 clearance between the pressure plate face, and the driven disc face. shims can be added or removed from the bolts that hold the clutch pack togeather, to obtain, the .030 clearance.

Sooo, are you having problems with it or is it just the oil that you're concerned about? It's a virtually indestructible wet clutch. Can be slipped for hours. It formed the basis for an Allis variable speed combine drive. A simple shim system where you take a shim out to tighten it up a bit.
