I have a ac 200 and I am losing hydraulic fluid into the Trans hydraulic fluid reservoir. Is their anything I can do for this without breaking the tractor in half? Also, it pops out of third gear. What can I do about that? Thanks for the help.

I have a 185 , my first allis. Mine was doing the same with oil . There is a seal between the torque tube and tranny blocking a weep hole that lets the two equalize. I was needing to use it so i drilled out the transmission plug , welded a coupling to it and joined the two with hydraulic hose. I had to split later to work on the transmission but that got me by till then . As far as jumping out sometimes the rails can be reworked but not than likely it will need to be rebuilt . Get a manual , post on here . Lot of knowledge and good people . They got me through a total transmission rebuild. I'm sure somebody with a lot more experience will jump in .

My grandpa has a 200 with the same problem. Did your hose solution work out without issues? My grandpa farms about twenty acres with it and im pretty sure it hasn't been over half throttle in five years.

So, did you join the two drain plugs together with a hydraulic hose, and that let them equalize? Will it hurt anything for the fluids to mix?

Same oil. I know the 200's are a little different but basically the same system. There is a passage to equalize the two . Get a shop manual , money well spent .

There are two seals that go back to back in the power director head. One to keep fluid in tranny and one to get hyd out of tran. The other seal is up high and is behind the power director clutch. If you split the tractor I would also put new sealing rings for the power director there are three rings and they are only about 12 bucks each. Mine where wore completely out and it was transfering HYD fluid to the transmission.
