I have to split a D17 at the trans-torq tube and I am looking for ideas as to what others have made or used. I have stands for IH & JD but cannt fiqure out a way to make these work on this Allis. Would like to bolt them to underside after the 3 pt irons are removed and roll torq tube-engine forward. This tractor does have wide frt. so I can block frt. axle.

Thanks

Obtain an 1 3/8" I.D. pipe that is four feet long. Slip the pipe on the PTO shaft and use it as a long lever. Block the wide front with 2 x 4's. Bottle jack underneath the belly directly down from the fuel tank. Split the tractor and with a man on each rear wheel and one on the pipe, roll it apart. Usually heavy on the front, but very manageable.

google Cofer Mfg, Dodge City, KS for ideas. I"d use a Bulldog hand crank jack on each side, maybe mounted on a common beam with wheels, or buy the wheeled Bulldog jacks.

What's wrong with you clutch? There's a good you tube video on shimming it. If it needs to come out to fix be warned the parts are not cheap. If you replace it with a used unit, take it apart and make sure all is well before you put it in.
