WD 45 pops out of 2nd gear

hi matt, was just reading another thread here about this:

Just fixed my cousin's WD-45 diesel for the same trouble. His cover off the transmission had a lot of fork travel when checked in each gear detent. Had at least 3/8 inch travel so I redrilled the cover for .410 ball size instead of 3/8 inch. Spot welded the rail detents and reground the other detent side so the transmission shift collars move farther as needed. It was a lot of work but all gears stay in now..

We had a "C" that jumped out of 3rd gear. The quick fix was a rubber band cut out of an old inner tube wired on and when in 3rd we would just secure it in gear by hooking the rubber-band over the shifter lever. That worked all the years we used it. cleddy
