tires for model B

Getting closer to finishing the restoration of my '39 model B & I'm wanting to find tires made in the USA to go on this good old piece of American machinery.

Also, the front wheels call for a 5.00 x 15 tire. Anyone know if the rim would take a wider tire such as a 6.00 or 6.50?

Any help is appreciated.

Pilot 199 I spent 22 years owning a farm tire shop. In those 22 years I never saw anything in a 15" 3 rib larger that 500X15. They make a 700X15 trailer tire but that would be too big for a B.

B would have most likely been a 3x15 rim. Typical tires 4.00-15 (early) or 5.00-15 (later). 5.00-15 about as big as I would try assuming stock rims and I agree with previous post - nothing out there in tractor fronts bigger than 5.00-15 anyway.

5.50 size was most likely a 5.50-16 on front of a bigger tractor like a WD.

As to tires made in USA, good luck. Try Miller Tires - expensive but will be most likely to have USA made if anyone does. Check Firestones and Titan tires (they bought BF Goodrich and I think more recently they bought Goodyear Farm Tires).

Maybe better price on Simple Tire - I once got a deal on SimpleTire on some single rib Firestones, but they may not have what you want.

Also try Carlisle - I have some Carlisle 5.00-15 that are USA made though more recent may no longer be USA - I know their trailer tires are now made in China - but so are everyone elses including Goodyear.
