The gas filter on my 1939 B is a Zenith screw on type, but it was missing the filter. I thought a filter from a chainsaw gas tank could be modified to fit, but that readily became beyond my meager talents.. Instead, I used a round piece of felt seal from a carburetor shaft, put it into the head of the valve assembly and then put a modified faucet aerator (minus the rubber gasket) over it, screwed into the top. Works perfectly, dropping any debris into the jar.
Rebuilt the carburetor and made a new fuel line - starts right up! Time for a nap!
