This is a picture of the WD 45 that I just finished. I did the tractor in memory Of our dad, FIL, BIL, uncle, and grand pa rents that worked Allis Chalmers and Rumley ( LaPorte Works LaPorte, Indiana) .

I see you have a Ball on the Steering wheel..I have always used one on mine as well...

On those tractors, a steering wheel Ball is pretty much for the STRONG and BOLD if there are any Groundhog holes, etc to hit unexpectedly..!!
That steering wheel can spin all the way, one way or the other FASTER that you can Blink you eye...!!!

The Ball seems to strike your hand (several times)and Peel your hands off the wheel while it is spinning, and I have a strong grip in the first place...!!!

BTDT many times, but never broke anything...!!!!

I DO love these AC 's...!!!!!!!

Ron..

This tractor will not see a lot of work because we have rented ground out the last 10 years. This tractor will go to pulls and shows. I was able to take it two shows ( one show Allis Chalmers was featured) and one pull this fall. I pull it in antique farm stock and take nothing off tractor but do add some weight and run it at stock RPM. The pull that I pulled it in I pulled it in a 0-10,000 lb. percentage pull class and took first and only weighing in at 4,480 lbs..

I see you have a ball on the steering wheel. Well I HAD one on mine tell hit a cow path with the front end and the steering wheel jerked the ball out of my hand. It spin around and the ball hit my arm just in back of the wrist. My thumb was numb for a week.

Dad had a ball on all the tractors when I was growing up and I have them on almost all of mine and never had one jerked out of my hand.

Very nice. I've got a ball on mine too, though we call it a suicide knob here. So far, so good, no injuries yet.
