Another WD45 question

I pulled the tractor last week in farmers class and local class. Every time I got to end of a pull the arms for the snap couplers were in the up position. If I put some pressure on them they would go down. What's going on?

Do the arms do this all the time? The controls on hydraulic system is set at traction boost drawbar.

Yup. You want it set for hold or drawbar, I forget which. The diagram on the battery box will tell you how to set the pump. Or you can wire the lever down and your arms will just be down.

The "Traction Booster" is set to give additional weight transfer during Normal heavy load conditions..

Tractor Pulling exceeds this and will really not effect your drawbar while "Pulling"..

You could defeat the "Traction Booster" by setting the pump for "Drawbar" use (Per the Manual of Decal on the Battery Box)..

I don't want the arms to go into the up position every time I pull I want them to stay in down position.

I have now got the traction booster set to drawbar . The hand lever was in the down position. Thank for the information.

Sounds like something is wrong with your pump. Lever down it shouldn't be pumping. Doesn't really matter where the arms are. Guess if you really care, you could tie them down somehow.

Being new to Allis Chalmers I only had lever on steering column pulled down during pull. Since I been home I have set the traction booster to drawbar boost and have to wait until I have something heavy to pull to see if it works. Since I don't farm anymore the only real heavy pulling they get is going to tractor pulls.

Dis-connect the flat rod that runs from the Hitch to the Pump and the pump will never know you have a load on the tractor..
