I bought a wd45 a while back, nice running tractor with wide front end and power steering, was thinking about getting a front mount cultivater for it,do I have to take the wide front off and put a narrow front on to mount it, how does the front gangs lift, hydraulic cylinder or some kind of mechanical lift off the back gangs, thank for any help, rod

Keep the wide front on it. I have cultivated many acres on a wide front WD45 with a front mounted 4 row cultivator. One of the lift arm cylinders swings forward and connects to a bar supported by lever brackets to which lift rods are connected. But if you could find a rear mount cultivator it would be a much better setup.
