late '40's WC value

Hi all, New to AC's so I'm gonna need some help here.
This is all on the "cuff" right now until I get a chance to see this in the next couple of days so here goes. Friend of mine turned me onto a late "40's WC with the front mounted saw "supposedly" with earlier wheels. Supposedly on steel. Engine is stuck, hasn't run in 10 years or so but "ran" when parked. I'll try get some pics and a better description when I get a chance to see it in the next day or so. Asking $500.00 what is a "ballpark" value with what I have been told I'll be getting myself into? Any help would be appreciated. I usually go green but I don't want to pass this up if it's worthwhile. Can't help myself. Thanks,
Bob

If it has front and rear steel wheels then buy it, it's worth it. If it is only rear steel in non running condition, $500 is really pushing
the limits of a WC.

Fill in the blanks. Is it stuck due to sitting in a building for years or is it stuck due to having rain get in the engine due to an uncapped exhaust pipe?? $500 to me is high unless you can fill in the blanks

Picture is worth a thousand words. On correct steel, it'd be worth $500 as long as the sheet metal is good. With scrap being $150 a ton or so, even on the slow boat to China it's only worth $300 or so.

ok guys here are the pics of the real thing. NOT on steel but earlier wheels, serial # looks to be 135711, stored outside exhaust "was" covered but it looks like manifold is completely rusted away. rear sheet metal rough. Forgot my bore-scope so inside unknown. rough but ????? hate to see anything scrapped but then there are some that should be? Saw buck comes with it.

The rear rims are the only thing of much value. At best, I'd say $200. Maybe $300 if you really want it. I love the old WC's, but there is not much you can do with them anymore.

It don't look all that bad, I have a few like it. It would all depend if you want to invest some time and money, just for the fun and experience. Old tractors hardly ever pay off in $$$. If you can afford it, will be money better spent than a bar or pool hall. Also working on an old tractor is more rewarding than watching a football game on TV. Richard
