Re: Tappet clearance cold on WD-45

Apparently you wanted 2 answers and only received the one on clearance! On torqueing the rocker bolts, just use a 3/8 IN ratchet, and pull as tight as you feel comfortable to. You shouldn't twist any off, that way.
 
Rule of thumb for cold settings is add .002 to intake and .003 to exhaust. Truth of the matter is if the engine has any kind of hours on it and rockers have not been reground your actual clearance is a whole lot more than the feeler gauge setting anyway.
 

It takes a pretty good "Feel" to set worn rocker arms..

You may get better results with a Dial Iindicator..

It is not too hard to remove the rocker arms and re-condition them and get an accurate clearance measurement..
