1954 WD 45 Diesel 3 point conversion

Looking to buy a 3 point conversion that attaches to the Yoke in the same manner as the drawbar. It also attaches to the 2 lift arms.
Wanted for attaching rotary mower to a 1954 WD 45 diesel.

Not sure that'll work. I've got one and there is a brace across the middle that would hit a PTO shaft. The ones that bolt to the drawbar will allow for PTO use, retains the traction booster feature, and lets you keep the drawbar in place. Have seen them on eBay and other sites for sale.

"The ones that bolt to the drawbar will allow for PTO use, retains the traction booster feature." I have one like he is talking about around here somewhere. I have seen them used on three point mowers and no interference with PTO shaft. I have seen several mention on here that removing the drawbar will not allow the traction booster to work on these type of kits. I am going to challenge this statement. To use a snap coupler plow you have to remove the drawbar to mount the plow. This type of adapter hooks into the same place, bell housing, the tongue does on a snap coupler plow. Please explain why the traction booster will not work on a three point adapter with the tongue removed.

Just got done buying one. There seems to be 3-three types. Mounted on drawbar-traction booster works. Drawbar removed and mounted with snap coupler-traction booster works. Drawbar removed and 3 point mounted to rear axle diferencial- no traction booster. Might be otheres too...

Get one that allows the traction boost to work. The best one is the one made by factory but is very rare. The top link on the after market version attaches to the rockshaft via a clevis. This will slip to the low side when mowing on side hills. An annoyance. Can be restrained with a clamp on either side.

The Snap-Coupler is the sensing device for automatic weight transfer, through the large spring above the SC. Notice that there is a pivot point above the SC, so as pull changes it slightly changes compression on the spring, and activates the linkage going up to the control valve. So, if nothing is hooked into the bell housing, there is nothing to activate weight transfer.

I built this setup and have used one just like it for 11 years with no problems, cost about $150,Bob. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank">

You are correct about the remove the drawbar adapters also letting the traction booster work. I've got one of those style on my cultivator. Guess my point was that style does not allow for PTO use 'that I have seen'. Mine has a support bracket across the 2 arms that would hit and bend a PTO shaft. The aftermarket ones appear to be the same as well. Thus, I stand by my original statement, the ones that bolt to the drawbar allow for all 3 functions, PTO work, traction booster, and use of the drawbar. The others do not.

Very nice. I am thinking about doing something similar to mine someday, if our old 6' rotary mower ever craps out on us and we have to get a new one.

I have a 1948 allis chalmers wd 45. Is there a way I can order that kit. I have what looks like the same tractor and I need that kit. Or do you have a parts list? Or is this something that I can buy right online or over the counter. I recently bought this tractor and I am not at all familiar with it but I need to hook up my 6ft disc. It did not come with a 3 point hitch. email [email protected]
