Combine Engine

I have a Gleaner A combine that has the Allis Chalmers engine on it. The combine is tired and ready to be put out to pasture but the engine runs good and doesn't use much oil. Do these engines fit anything else and would this engine be valuable to someone as a parts engine? The block must have frozen up and broken at some point because there is welding on the side of the block so you probably wouldn't want to use it in a tractor.

Combine is going for scrap and I am trying to decide whether to pull the engine first.

Thanks

Or for a d-17 Diesel, wd-45 diesel, or put it in a d-17 gas too, make your frame rails a little longer, but at least u will have a 7 main brg engine

Not saying that it won't fit into a D-17 gas chassis, but you'll have to be a little more creative with the flywheel/clutch disc/pilot brg set-up. The clutch shaft on the gas chassis is about 1 1/2" longer than the diesel chassis.

You're right about putting the Buda engine in a gasser plus he'd need the diesel backplate and flywheel and the front plates and governor off a Cockshutt or D19 gas to make it work right.
