Allis B cultivator hookup question

I have manual lift on the B cultivators I have as well parts for hydro lift. Have hand lifted them for years and I can do it fairly easy. However I'm not the only one using the tractor and would like to know the setup for hydro lift. If anyone has it setup on a B can you shoot some pictures my way. I'm not understanding the book on the hookup and just can't seem to get it to work. Either I'm missing something or not putting tab A into slot B right if you know what I mean. So any help with this might just help. Thanks.

You must change the solid rod from the lift handle to the rock shaft to a 2 piece rod and tube.
This will alow the handle to be in the upright position and the hydraulics to raise the cultivator. You must also remove 1 spring and relocate the other one. With the hand lift, the springs helped you lift the cultivators. With hyrdo lift, the spring is for down pressure. Hope this helps. LOL Bob

Thanks Bob for the reply but honestly your statement "hope this helps" really doesn't. What is the two piece rod and tube? Is this the same thing used with the plow? It has a rod and tube for one of the links. If so not sure how that works. I have three sets of cultivators and the one I use is with spring shanks. I would rather use the sweeps but am missing some on both the other sets. So I use the complete set. Is there instructions for this mod and setup somewhere that walk you through you know of?

There are different variations for B cultivators. The early version was a one piece system that you actually had to drive the tractor over to hook the cultivator up. The later cultivator was two sections. The front frames mounted on each side of the engine and there was a separate rear tool bar. I think the manual lift you are describing, is the depth adjustment levers that are on each side of the tractor beside the gas tank. With this type cultivator, two rams are used. One lifts the rear tool bar and the other lifts the front section. The later model B's had a dual action hydraulic control valve so that the front and rears could be lifted separately. A lot of B's were converted from the older cultivator and only have the single auction valve. It is hard to know if this answer actually helps since I don't the which set up you have.

Not sure I've ever seen a B that had anything but what I have for a cultivator frame. I looked for a picture online and found one similar to the one I have. However I have springs not sweeps and is a different mounting to the cultivator frame but in general the frame is the same. Larry do you have pictures of the "late model" frame?

Snap couplers I see. That would make sense. I have never seen a B with them in person. Whats with those fenders? Homemade or what? Thanks chalmersbob.

This is not the style cultivator I have. I have the older one that was pictured. I'm still trying to understand what to lift, change and redo to install it. Any pictures of one with hyro hooked up to view change over?
