C Allis Mag troubles

I parked a running C Allis a dozen years ago in my shed. I've recently been trying to get it back into running condition. I don't seem to be getting any fire. It has an IHC Mag. Under the distributor cap there is only a rotor that appears to be in good shape. Under the square cover on top it has what looks like a big coil or something. similar.

Good chance your points are dirty and need to be cleaned or replaces. On that mag they are a pain to get to and I would have to open up the one I have here in the house to remember how to get to them but it isn't fun

I don't remember messing with them before so no telling how long since the points saw daylight. I don't have an Allis book but maybe this mag is in one of my Farmall ones. Things starting to look up over there? I saw you had a mess.

Only way out of my place right now is 4X4 or a tractor and that is if your lucky. Try to take a walk in the filed and it feels like your walking on a sponge due to the mud left behind by the creek. To get to the points on this mag you have to pull the cap and rotor off. Then there are 3 screw you remove and pull the part off and there are the points. I just did it on the mag I have here just to be sure how to do it

You need new points.

Your magneto is an IHC model H4.

To get to the points. Remove the cap and the rotor. Then remove the THREE 10-32 screws and remove the front aluminum cover off the magneto. The points are behind the front aluminum cover.

DO NOT remove the two small 8-32 screws. The rotor drive gears are behind the small round steel cover.

The condenser is under the top cover in front of the coil.

would you believe they are calling for rain for the next 4-5 days. I still have most of the pasture in hay to be baled but it keeps raining so no baling of hay and many others are in the same boat here in Missouri

Wish I could find some help but no such luck yet. What I really need is 3 or 4 dump truck loads of gravel for my driveway due to it being washed out badly. Been having to drive my sons Toyota 4X4 just to get out of my place
