Allis D19 serial number location yellow paint

Ok, so I looked under the seat like tractor data says. I also looked at the front of the torque tube on the left side. Looks just like my D17 but there is no number. Cleaned it down to cast. Nothing but on the way through the paint came across yellow??? Didn't know Allis D19 were ever yellow. I hope someone can explain why no serial number stamped in the torque tube space and why the yellow paint. Thanks!

It's not stamped on the torque housing like a D-17, because that isn't where they did it on a D-19. It should be behind the seat suspension stamped right on top of the rearend housing (not the 1 inch thick cover....the housing). If there isn't one there, maybe it had the housing replaced one time years ago and so, there would NOT be a S/N unless the Mechanic had a way to hammer one in there. Yellow paint from the factory, indicates an Industrial model. If there's orange paint underneath the yellow, it is a repaint by some colorblind individual.

Thanks DrAllis. I found a picture that shows the yellow primer and the rear housing your talking about. Since I am picking your brain, where is the power steering pump on the D19? Thansk again.

Power steering pump is directly above the generator on the right side of the engine.
