A friend's 6140 allis 2wd tractor the throw out bearing must have went out . He says it moves but won't stop . Is there anything else to look for ? Any hidden obstacles to worry about ? Are they a big job to change ? I have access to splitting stands what else should be done.thanks Mark

Could be one of a few things or a combo of things. Linkage out of adjustment, or broken linkage some place, or throw out bearing, or the pressure plate fingers broken or a simple stuck clutch disk. A bit more info might help us help you. Has it maybe sat over winter and just been start up and had this problem or has he been using it and then one time he steps on the clutch and it does not stop??

If the throwout bearing has failed, the clutch pedal will not feel normal. It will be very easy to press down on. If the clutch disc would be rusted to the flywheel and stuck, the clutch pedal will feel just fine, just no clutch release takes place.
