Putting on Electric Start On A, 38 B

I have this Allis 38 B with no electric start. I want to get it running and then let it go down the road.
Is it worth more being original or should I get a different torque tube and what ever else to change it over the electric start.
 
It is a personal preference thing. I have two 1938 B's and switched torque tube on both. I only put foot brakes on one. I have the parts to put foot brakes on the other one if I ever get around to working on it.
 
Electric start will have more value for most people. I bought a CA last year, seller wanted me to buy his non-electric B in the worst way. I said I"m too old and bent out of shape to crank them. Since I was paying green cash, $750 for the CA, he said make it a grand and take both. Couldn"t resist that....running tractors with decent rubber. Went to a fellow collector and got the torque tube, starter, foot brakes, for $160. Sold it all to my son for what I have in it. Will be a nice project for him.
 
By the time you buy parts and put labor into it, you may not really make much on the upgrade. Running with good tires would be great. I prefer starters, but will you get your money back ? A generic running B tractor even with starter is not worth much. Tires / paint / etc determine the price....... Since it is a 38 does it have special front wheels, rear wheels, weights ????
 
Not much difference in value between if left alone or correctly converted. To convert per factory job you need a Torque tube, ring gear on the flywheel, starter, kick rod and bracket, plus you need to change the tool box, battery box, switch box, generator (if original the block isnt drilled for the generator bracket by the way) wiring harness and probably a few things I forgot. If you just add the torque tube and starter and jury rig everything else the tractor will be worth less when done than if you had left it alone.
