That is a vague question.
Depends on soil type, how deep you plow, mechanical shape of tractor, etc.
Around my neck of the voods it handles a 2/14 pretty good.

Years ago my neighbors 1955 or 1956 wd45 with a kit in the motor and 14.9 rear tires pulled 3x14 plows.
It was a very powerful tractor in excellent mechanical condition.

I was a young fellow, so I really did not know how much horsepower the kit added, but the tractor used an 8 volt battery to start.

Growing up in our area of west KY, it was one of the larger tractors, there were few M Farmall's or G John Deere.

To answer your question, I would think a WD would be happier with 2x14 or 2x16 plows. I had a D14 and I use 2x14, worked well.

IF the rear tires are Loaded, the tractor is Healthy and the tires GOOD, no reason a WD will not pull a 3-14" Mounted AC Plow..

We always pulled 4-14 (Semi-Mounted AC) in ALL soil types here in Central Ohio and we have some mighty tough soils..

All 4 tires Loaded and a RR Iron on the front is all we ever needed ( But, you do need to KNOW when Black Wax is just TOO Dry to plow)...!! That is best plowed wet in the Fall...

A WD should be in 2nd gear with a 3-14" except for only the Toughest spots and then 1st WILL get you through..

The KEY is Weight...(and learning to Steer with the Brakes!!)..

Local allis dealer brought WD45 and 3 bottom mounted to show it would work in our ground. Got it socked in , Hud would not lift plow could not back up. Dad had to pull it backward . He loaded up never said a word just left/

Must not have had any ballast...if the rear tires were not loaded or no wheel weights the WD-45 would be short on traction...

They will pull much more than they probably should...front end off the ground, muffler RED and 12" of solid BLUE flame above the pipe all day long...

I got a good deal on the plow so if I have to I guess I can turn it into a2 bottom if all else fails, not plowing very deep just turning over acre of garden. Thanks for input.

Depends on soil type... sand Ok, heavy clay, absolutely not. many years back had a WD-45 with wheel weight and loaded tires.. pulled a well adjusted SC 3x14 ok.. with a working traction booster. Here in the North East's heavy clay soils it had a rough time if I plowed too deep. You really want an older tractor for some serious plowing? Get a 175 .. used one for many years pulling a 3pt 3/16 oliver plow in heavy soils. That old mechanical traction booster when adjusted properly couldn't be beat... puts some of my newer Deere and NH tractors to shame.

I have a 53 Allis CA, I bought a Moline plow, the bottom edge is 20 inches long. I know nothing about plows, will this plow go under the CA? From the front hook up to the back of the arm, it is 45 inches long

Thanks,
Mike

Run dads 51 WD and 3-14 plow a lot when home. Lets just say it pulled it in most places in our dirt. It would of been better with 2-16. I finally made 2-14's out of it.
