Is a 180 gas burner rare? A friend is looking at buying one. What are they worth so he doesn"t over pay.
Thanks
Bob

Supposedly they didn't make many but I have one and so does a neighbor.Mine is very good on gas usage and his burns gas like crazy for some reason.Mine does have an odd carb with a very restrictive throat but runs just fine. What they sell for now I have no idea back about 1985 I gave $1000 and a non running JD 60 for it.

Around here I would guess they sold 50/50 gas vs diesel. Just looked over at tractor house and 20 for sale 19 diesel 1 gas. The gas burners are far from rare and given everything else being equal bring 1-2,000 less than diesels at auction.

I think they made a few 4-cylinder 180s (vibration issue), then changed to the 6-cyl. I suppose the 4 cal would be rare, but unwanted.

Supposably no 4cyl 180 gas tractors ever made it out of the factory before the problem was discovered and production halted. The A-C "bible" says that all of the 4 cyl gas engines were removed and the tractors were converted to diesels while development of the G-265 was going on. None the less a 4 cyl gas 180 has surfaced,,
