190xt pto operation

I have some question about proper operation of my rear pto so thst I don't damage anything by doing something wrong.

I have some mowing to do at my new property Friday morning and will be using a 7ft 3 point mower on my 190xt, i have never used the pto before so I just want to make sure I do it right.

Is there a certain method in which I should engage the pto?
Clutch pressed?
Clutch released?
If I press the clutch to stop and switch to reverse will the pto stop?
Do I need to disengage the pto before backing up?
I read that if you place the power director in neutral it allows you to stop the tractor and the pto will remain engaged, I'm assuming this means if I press the foot clutch it will also disengage the pto? Since it's not a "true" live pto?

Any help would be appreciated so I can get my mowing job done without screwing something up due to my lack of operation knowledge, thank you and Iok forward to your responses

I have a 190 gasser, and engage the PTO same as I shift gears - clutch in, let the drivetrain stop, engage, then clutch out.

The Power Director gives you "semi" live PTO, and I do use it when baling if the baler is starting to choke - just bump into N, wait, and back into gear (with the clutch so I don't jerk the baler).

There are two different types on PTO's on that tractor. One requires de-clutching and grinding the PTO coupling into gear (and then release clutch) and is usually located to the left of the seat or down on the floorboard also left of the seat. The other type is the hydraulic clutch PTO which is to the right of the seat down from the right armrest on the side of the console. It allows engage/disengage on-the-go without using the foot clutch. Either type still stops the PTO when the foot clutch is depressed down. You must use the power director hand lever to stop forward/rearward motion and maintain PTO power.
