I bought my first tractor as a restore project. It was advertised as a CA (as well as the decal on the front). It runs good and in decent shape so I bought it. After researching I discovered it obviously is a C. It has a three speed, no hand clutch, no spin-out wheels, etc. Serial is C8904 which by my reading this site makes it a 1941.
The seat has been changed at some point (welded to a homade frame). The other issue is the hood. It is has an under the hood muffler that sticks out through a obviously rough self-made cut hole. There is another hole on the right side w/three bolt holes? I have found no C anywhere with a right side muffler hole. I think the tractor may have been a CA that someone changed out the backend to a C or maybe it was 100% C and just decaled wrong last time it was painted. Is there really any difference on the front half bewteen a CA and a C?
It really doesnt matter to me that it is not a CA but any help in identfying what I have exactly is appreciated. I will post more photos
