Testing Remotes

Just curious about the throughput on my hydraulic remotes, can you test each of the remote couplings with a pressure gauge? Just got the tractor, haven't changed filters or fluids yet. The seller said that he wasn't if they worked or not. 3pt lift works fine. - thanks

You can. if you tell us what model, we can tell you what it should be doing. All a guage will tell you is the max pressure. They make flow meters as well, but nearly anything old is going to be around 10 gpm with a 2,000 psi limit unless it's a WD, then it's be about 4 gpm at 3,600 psi.

Plug in a 3,000 psi gauge to any of the 4 outlets and wit engine wide open throttle, push or pull on whatever hyd lever it takes to activate the gauge....should be 2,200 to 2400 psi with lever fully stroked.
