Early 50's Model 53 3 bottom plow

I have a early 50's I believe model 53 3 bottom mount on plow for behind my WD45. Running into the issue that the mow boards are wore out. Do any other ones cross over from any other allis plow to put on it? I believe it's a model 53 from looks. Also, the 45 has the snap coupler hitch and this one is for the WD hook up. Is it as simple as taking the snap coupler off and hooking the pin through? Any help is appreciated. I am going to do 30 acres of oats this spring. I have a 4 ft. van brunt drill and packer in great shape! Doing this in memory of my grandfather.---Adam
 
30 acres of anything is an awful lot for a wd45
with a 3 bottom to plow. You will be plowing your
every waking moment. You will be only going about
3-4mph at best. Good luck!
 
As far as the snap coupler goes, I believe you could unbolt the
pin type and put a snap coupler eye to match your tractor instead of changing the tractor. I would think someone would have a snap coupler plow junked out and sell the part you need. The
mold boards are another story.... I am not sure but you might
be able to find used bottoms or maybe even
some newer series bottoms. A 53 series plow had several different bottoms available.... #24, 325, 330 series. You could try to contact

Oh, come on, 30 acres just gets it warmed up good.

Dad and i used to turn 50 acres in one day with 2 WD-45's.
Just stay in 2nd gear or the fuel consumption goes up.
ALWAYS retain the "Snap-Coupler".
The Newer Moldboards ( 330? ) plow better than the ones sold with the WD.
You probably will use around 1 1/3 Gal of gas per Acre
Cover-Boards are worth having, A Good Rear Heel and decent Shares..
"Rock-Shares" last much longer.
For new, ck with Shoup's..decent prices..
