Help to identify 1960's 2-Row No-Till Allis Chalmers Planter

This is a 2 row Allis-Chalmers Planter than I"m guessing is from the 1960"s. I cant find a plate unless I"m not looking in right spot. Or did Allis stamp a # into the casting and if so where should I look. Mainly trying to figure out the model # if anyone can help. Thanks! See pictures.

It is a 600 series frame for sure! I have a AC brochure that shows all the MANY planter units but cant find it at this moment. I do know these units predate the the 72 and 74 series. Ryan

You're right Ryan. 600 series frame and 60 series planter units. 71 and 72 units were next with different drive, depth adjusting system and seed boxes.

Allis Chalmers sure made a heck of a lot of different units back in the day MMDan!! I guess the #74 were the last plate type before the air units. Ryan

AC really did make a lot of different planter units and to make it even more confusing they made changes without changing the model numbers!! The 71/72 units have 2 different chain tightening systems-early units with only 1 roller and the later units with 2. The last plate type units were the 73/74 which used roller chain instead of the detachable malleable chain and also have the quick change sprockets. The 78/79 air units had the same type roller drive chain while the earlier air units used the detachable chain. Mix this all up with 5 different press wheels and 5 or 6 different planter frames and the possibilities are mind boggling!!

Does anyone have a good source for the rubber springs for the no til coulters? Also, somewhere I had seen pictures of an AC planter retrofitted with spring coulters from another manufacture, but I can't seem to find them. I need to rebuild a few before planting corn this year.

From what I understand the rubber pieces are NLA from AGCO and there is no alternative. White planter (or even certain model Oliver/White plow) coulter assemblies should work.
