AC power shift

They are worth a lot more money around here. No one wants a Power Director. The Power shifts were pretty popular.

There was only one around here, back when they were new. I think it was a 7060? I don't know where it went. It worked fine. But it still was not a full power shift, as it had two ranges.

Was it still a 6 speed powershift in each range, that's how it was explained to me, clutch only needed between ranges or for reverse. Even in low 6 gear choices with no clutch would be handy.

You really needed to clutch to reverse. Dad had a 7060 PS. I got pretty good at shifting from low range to high on the fly, but clutching was better. Needed to be at a full stop to clutch the shift. The only thing I couldn't get rolling in high was a 600 bu wagon of corn. Most of the time, I never needed low range unless it was field work and then I never needed high range. She sure was a lot of fun to run.

Thanks for the replies. May try to replace the 7000 I have now on the front mount snow blower. Would like to have more power and gear choices without using the clutch.

You better use the clutch pedal to shift into reverse. It will kill or almost kill the engine if you don't. Bad idea to not use clutch.
