Went to the Arizona Historical Museum in Tucson AZ. They have a mining exhibit with a huge stamping machine that crushes ore. This machine was made out of big timbers for the framing. Made by Allis Chalmers , Chicago IL.

About 35 yrs ago, my uncle and i went to a small town threshing show, and they had a rock crusher there, the old timers there, didn't know how old it was! But it was belt driven, they had a WD-9 IH running about 1/3 throttle, and a old truck backed up to it, with field rock in it [football sized]. I crawled up in there, took my turn at putting rocks in the hopper, chug- chug-chug out came the most beautiful chips, they had there driveways , @ low spots covered ! It worked off two big rollers, the bearings you could see on the ends were maybe 8-10 inches in diameter, but the rollers were much bigger. The one roller was round and the other was a eccentric. The brand was unknown !!

I saw an operating rock crusher at Rollag, MN last time I was there. Currently they use manganese jaws on rock crushers. One fixed jaw and one running an elliptical pattern. They can be built up with weld with manganese rod.

Never seen that style work, but i seen big donuts [orange colored] being hauled out of Milwaukee , always going west, usually about 6 to a flat bed, is that the kind you seen in Rollag operate?

I live in the "mother lode", so crushers are common here, but I will see that one next month when the AACA meets in Tucson.
