oil- rocker arm shaft to rocker arms on b allis

getting oil to rocker arm shaft, but getting very little if any to rockers. shouldn't there be washers or something at either end of shaft and mabe a wick or something inside of shaft? this is a b allis. thanks for any help

Do you not have a cork in each end of the shaft?

If it looks like the picture and has a cork in each end it should be fine. That is if you are getting oil into the shaft.

the rear stud is grooved and oil flows into the shaft.. There is a cork at each end. THe shaft is full of oil and there is a hole in the shaft at each rocker arm... Oil leaks out onto the arm. Where is your problem ?

thanks for reply, there is nothing in shaft . I guess I should cut a piece of cork roughly size of id of shaft to stop oil from freely running out each end of shaft , thus to build some oil volume.

You can buy bottle corks that can be drove in. You could use a balsa wood plug I guess or rubber stoppers. Cork was what was in when made.

thanks again for help. I cut and placed a piece of cork at each of rocker shaft. the shaft it self seems to be a piece of rolled steel with visible horizontal seem. there are six total holes bored through shaft, 1 at each end for cotter keys, 4 holes for stud post. no holes under rocker arms positions. this is too simple, what am I missing?

You not missing anything that is just the way it works. Oil comes up thru the bolt holes around the bolts. Watch it run with the valve cover off and you will see how it lubes the rockers and valves. Simple works sometimes and this is one.
