1943 Allis Chalmers C help stuck in two gears?

Hi everybody i have a Allis Chalmers C that i believe to be stuck in 2 gears but not 100% sure. Half the time it shifts into two gears so i tear off the side cover thats got the shifter rails and all that mover some things around, slap it back in and the other two work! Then i put the fork on the two main gears where they have the groves and i cant shift into any gears. Any help would be appreciated much! Thank you and have a good day!

P.S. ONE TIME i got it into what i believe was neutral and the tractor wasnt stuck. Then put shifter mechanism back in and it was stuck again haha. :x

The ball on the bottom of the shifter lever should be round and 5/8 (.625 ) diameter. That would help keep it from getting into two gears at once.

You problem is most likely this part.

You should probably pull the shift lever and check the two little keys that keep the pivot ball lined up.
