Allis Chalmers 310 stuck in gear

I have a 1972 Allis Chalmers 310 I use to plow my 2000ft driveway , it sat all summer and now is stuck in 2nd gear , any ideas?

You sure it is stuck in gear or maybe if it has been cold where you are it has water in the transmission that is now frozen so you can not shift it

I assume you're talking about a 310 lawn tractor? Back in my lawn and garden days- (72-73) I recall splitting some of those transmissions for that reason. But that's all I can remember. I just called my buddy who replaced me, and he remembers going in through the 3/8" pipe plug hole on the upper side of the trans. with a big screw driver and sometimes being able to work them back into neutral.
