What battery numbers have others been able to fit in WD45 battery box? Looking at measurements for batteries on farm and fleet site but they all seem to be slightly to big or have terminals reversed

Why don't you take the measurements of you battery box and where you need battery posts and take that to a good auto supply like NAPA and see what they can get to fit it.

I've been told a group 26 works the best. That is what is in mine now. You just have to deal with the terminals being backwards. Remember, you are going from positive ground to (probably) negative ground.

If you want a good battery stay away from NAPA. I would go to carquest. have not had a Carquest battery yet that didn't last at least 7 years.

I just get one for an '87 Buick for everything..!

Small enough to fit (but a good fit it the AC battery box) and fits the Bolens and Dixon mowers, too.. Plus, I get a longer Warrantee...

A group 26 does fit well in battery boxes that originally held type 1 six volt batteries. If you want the terminals reversed get the type 26R...In fact that is exactly the battery that I've put in several different A-Cs after converting them to 12 volts. I also have a B with a group 25 and this battery also works fine. Kip

Remember you do want neg ground. When you go to 12 volt. Also reverse the wires on the coil. I vote for a group 26. Vic
