c cut off steel wheels?

My dad has a 1943 C. It is a narrow front with what appears to be steel cutoffs on the front. The back wheels look like any other C I have seen. The front however is a spindle mounted one piece wheel (no bolt pattern just the spindle nut) with a weld job on the spokes that is definitely not factory. Was a C offered on steel? If so was the rear hubs changed or did the steel use the s same bolt pattern as standard rubber tire machines? If they were offered on steel I would love a pic of one if anyone has one.thanks

WWII, what tractor model DID NOT end up on steet due to the rubber shortage?
Google Allis Chalmers C Steel Wheel, should bring up at least two photos.
I think Allis even sent some tractors out without starters due to copper shortage. Of course, at 22 Sat, Im only talking from things Ive read.

Regardless of brand, I like the look of a styled tractor on steel. Neat contrast of new and old.

I once had a B Allis that had factory steel all the way around.
I haven't seen any C with steel,but that doesn't mean there wasn't any.

Here is my C.

From what I have been told, if it has spoke wheels, then they were originally steel wheels, and modified to add rims for rubber tires. Some people have modified them back to steel wheels, and some people can't weld worth a durn, so it will show up fast, lol.
