WD distributor points

I need a set of points for what I'm think is a WD. There is no tag on the distributor anymore and I can't find any model or serial numbers on the tractor, just a few casting numbers. The points that are for a wd don't fit. Here are some pictures. The new points are on top.

Well first off it your pictures where no up side down that would help. As for the numbers your looking for look at the left rear axle housing below the brake cover. There is a flat spot there that should have the serial numbers stamped into

I think you're right! I just looked at some pictures of points for an IH distributor and they look the same. I'll pick some up and try it out. Thanks

Forgot to say you should be able to take those points to a good auto parts store and have them matched up if you have a guy who knows what a book is that is. My local O'Reilly's is good about finding me parts but then They have had to put up with me for 30 plus years

The pictures are right side up on my phone that I posted from, but upside down on the computer. Don't know how that happened. I'll check there for the numbers.

You have a late WD or a WD45, since it has the curved shifter. WD got that in late "52 at sn 127008. Looks like an IH distributor. AC used the vertical setup, not horizontal. Look for the serial number on the left rear vertical face of the differential, below the brake cover...starts with "WD".

Without a doubt you have a IH distributor. Look closely under the slotted screw/plug.. That is without a doubt a IH logo (at least with my vision). My local NAPA stocks points/condensers for IH tractors, maybe yours will also. As another poster said, the points should be the same for H, M, 300, 400, 350, 450, and pretty much any other Farmall in that vintage. I think the IH H-4 mag also used the same points, but cannot recall with 100% certainty.

IH and the Delco distributor setups can be used in place of each other, their cap, rotor, points, etc. won't. Same goes for many of the mags on WC's and the IH H-4 mags.
