wd45 diesel engine

I have a allis chalmers diesel engine that I am putting together
from a basket.My question is do the bearing tangs on the rods go to the same side as the main bearnings? The reason I am not sure is the rods have been changed and they have been dotted with a punch.

I believe, from engine class, the dot goes to the front of the block

The punch marks are on the side of the rod where the #'s are supposed to be.The book says the #'s should be opposite of the cam but I am not sure they are on the correct side,

Not sure if don is on this forum or not but if you go over to allischalmers web site and look for Don M he is the diesel expert.
