Alright so I have a 51wd and the battery is not charging. So I went back in the archives for info. all well and good. Now I need some more help. When I do the motor test, the genny spins slower when you take the wire off the field to the ground, it's suppose to speed up if I'm reading the info. right. Does this mean the fields are bad. Thanks, Gregg

I will assume you have a 6 volt generator with a cutout box and not a voltage regulator. Add a jumper wire from the "F" terminal to ground on the tractor to bypass the light switch and see if that works. If the amp meter still don't move, get a hand held volt meter and measure from the "F" to the "A" terminals while running, with the "F" grounded. If you have over 6 volts then the generator is putting out. The "A" terminal goes into the cutout box, and the output of the cutout goes to the amp meter. Measure the voltage out of the cutout (to "F") if you have voltage going into the cutout.......... your trying to figure out if the light switch is bad, the cutout is bad, the amp meter is bad, or the generator just has no output.

your system looks something like this ?
