Might go look at a D 15 Allis. How many horsepower were these? Any obvious flaws or things I should be aware of? What years were these made? I'm familiar with tractors I just don't know much about Allis Chalmers. Thanks.

1960-67 Gasoline models were 42HP series 1 and 46 Series 2. Diesels were less HP than gas and same for both series, I think 39.

Biggest flaws are transmission popping out of gear. Test drive in all gears under both acceleration and deceleration. 2 and 3rd usually bad if any. Fix is $$$$$. Hand clutch is pretty reliable, should take a bit of force with the arm to snap it into hi or low.
Operationally the snap coupler hitch works well if you have the implements to match it. Conversions are just that and none work like a true 3 point. They will lift a blade or bale fork but wont have draft and position control need for 3 point tillage work. The hydraulic system is high pressure low volume and one way only on the remote unless it has the (rare) optional 2 way valve or been farmer converted. Again it works well enough if properly matched, most Non-AC equipment will work slowly and some can be damaged by the high pressures.

I was raised on one and liked it a lot. They are handy for being very easy to get on and off and fuel efficient but are limited in practical use by the hitch and hydraulics unless you spend the extra effort to match things up.

Will add, D15's do exist with factory 3pt, though its not many of them. Power-steering was also optional, no clue how common it is or not. So long as you don't have a loader, no power-steering is fine.

If the transmission is like my D 14, if the pto was spinning as if you were Bush hogging, I had to stop my pto from spinning before I could shift from a forward gear to reverse. Was a bit of a pain hogging in a small tight area.

Mine was a great old tractor, but I had most of the snap couple equipment, plus the 3pt. Hitch adapter.

I saw that one too Brendon. Thought about going and looking. Plus he had a $600 DB990. Looked like it was in Edwards maybe. How bad was the AC? Not even a diesel kike his ad said?

It was real rough Brett. The whole place was pretty
rough. I was supposed to meet around 12:30 and got
there late and no one was around but five rough
looking dogs. I knocked on the door and a pitbull
jumped off the kitchen table. Also about 30 cats.
The cats also had there own camper to live in. I
could see a light flickering in the camper window.
Kerosun maybe. Probably 20 or so forelorn looking
horses in the pasture with a few cows. Pretty sad
looking place. The DB looked rough as well. One rear
tire on it one fender and its the old old style. It
would make parts probably. Its in Edwards. Kind of
funny, once I found the place I realized I'd been to
an auction next door about three years ago. I did
however see a Massey 85 or Super 90 and a 50 that I
might have to check up on. And at least a dozen
little fords. So not a wasted trip anyway.
