I600 backhoe engine swap

Have a I600 backhoe with gas engine (160) that is junk, what diesel engine will bolt in its place? Any combines use this engine? Thanks

The I600 was based on the D15 farm tractor. There was a diesel engine available...IDK the cu inches, but the configuration was slightly different from the gas 160. (diesel bore/stroke 3.5625x4.375) AC diesel combines would have used larger diesel engines.

According to tractor data it used a 175 cid diesel. No idea on the availability or other applications. If I find any ill post but I will say I have been around an i600 forklift with the gas engine. I put up the trusses and posts on a 60x60 metal frame building with it. Dont think it used 10 gallons of gas in a day and a half.good engines. Im a diesel fan myself but its pretty hard to beat the fuel economy and reliability of an allis chalmers 4 cylinder. Now a d19..... thats another story.
