Throttle Problem

I have a 1950 model B that I have owned for 30 years. The throttle just started acting funny. At idle it operates normal. When I move the throttle lever forward, it immediately goes to 3/4 throttle with nothing in between. I took the governor apart and everything looks normal inside. I cannot figure out why it does this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dale

If this started suddenly, I'd start looking for something worn in the throttle/governor/carb linkage that is catching or binding. Maybe a broken or weak governor spring. If you really weren't sure what you were looking for in the governor you could have missed sticking parts or flats worn on the weights, etc.

With the hand throttle lever all the way back you are holding the carburetor on the idle stop screw. Most of the time the problem is in the cross over arm. It could be a broken weld at the fork in/at the governor. The governor is an RPM limiter. This means the governor is always trying to push the carburetor back to idle when the engine is running and has to be overcome by the spring to get more RPM's. With the engine running and the throttle hand lever moved forward, feel the resistance of the linkage at the carburetor. The linkage should be pushing toward the rear of the tractor. You should be able to trace it back from there to see what is causing the lack of resistance.

Thanks for the replies. I checked everything over again. No broken welds or springs. Took the governor apart again. Everything operated correctly. Then I looked at the carburetor. I replaced the original one some time back with a new Zenith carb. It looked like the one in the picture. If the adjustable throttle arm were to move, could this be causing my problem? I'm going to check it out tomorrow. I ran out of time today.

(quoted from post at 18:47:54 10/29/14) That could be where it is happening.
Well, I adjusted the throttle arm on the carb and the governor and throttle work perfect now.

Thanks for your help.
