Wd Allis Hubs

Hello,
I have a WD with a loader out front. I am always breaking the rims on the thing. They crack around the lug bolts, then they just go. The WD has 5 hole rims that use 5.5 x 16 inch tires.
My question is can I use an eight hole hub from a 210 on my axle and then place the wider 8 hole hubs and tires on the machine? They are also just 16 inch wheels, but wider to help with load carrying thanks much. -Rifman

Im no 210 expert, but that tractor is 3 times as big as a WD... I would doubt the spindles bearings are the same size.

IDK about fitting, I suspect not, but if no heavier rim is available, I"d find some extra thick washers and weld them over the holes to reinforce existing rims. Use correct bolts to center the washers. You could grind a drill bit to chamfer the washer hole at the correct angle for the wheel bolts. Best would be to pull one hub and use that for centering.

What in the world do you hang off of that loader? I move round bales, load manure, shove snow and dirt around and have never once broke anything other than bent up the bucket on mine.

you didn't say wheather you had a wide front end, or not? I have a DuAl loader on my WD45, with WFE, and use the original rims, with 16" 6 ply truck tires, on it for loader use. I haven't cracked a rim yet,( knock on wood) Perhaps the wider truck tires are coushining it! They can be shoe horned on to the narrow rims.

I am a mechanic and parts retailer. I just looked up the wheel bearing kit for both units. The spindle is considerably larger on a 210. I have had the back end off the ground with to much weight on my 45 loader and never broken anything. I have to wonder what are your lug bolts like? Are they smoothly tapered or are they worn down? If they have been on and off to many times that will break a wheeln

Get those rim repair rings and weld on a good rim. They are thicker metal than the rim, and will hold up. Shoup's has them I know. I have them on a bunch of wagon rims that have been damaged. Cheap fix. Buy 1/4" longer bolts with them.

Something doesn't add up here. Are you sure those are the
correct rims? There are a few old GM car rims that fit those
hubs, and maybe somebody put those on. Or the center hole
on the rim is not the right size (too big).
