Hello I have a chance to buy a Glenco Giant C chisel plow are they any good? can you put twisted shovels on them it has spikes on it now . I will need 4 more shanks on it they were removed where can I find them resonable ?? Thanks Bryan

That is an old chisel plow and many of them have been scrapped out by now. Finding shanks and other parts may be difficult.

I bought one new in 1980- still use it. Tough old machine- have used it "searching" for rocks to dig out, rip up fence lines, etc., as well as normal tillage. Four inch twisted shovels work fine on it. I use half right, half left, face them all towards the center for full coverage of the pass.

Parts have been minimal- broke a shank once by backing over a rock- they don"t BEND that way! Other than that, welded a brace once in 34 years.

Giant C runs more uniform depth, without jigging, than others I"ve used. Good heavy weighted frame. Frame is filled with some taconite like mix for weight.

may i sneek in this question,I have a Allis 19 foot chisel plow, but not sure who made the shanks for it,This has 4 tires under it, with hyd wings, There is absolutely no side play in the shanks where it pivots, Guarenteed , who made the shanks assembly?

A-C made their own chisel plows, except for a few early units which were rebranded from a company called Jeffroy, IIRC.
