Looking at another tractor purchase- a A/C 180.. does this sound like anything typical?

The ad Reads-

180 Allis diesel good running engine 800hrs on overhaul needs reverse gear put back in the gear shafts worked back and the gear fell off newer front tires rears hold air dual hydraulics..

Thanks! Reggie

Doesn't sound typical. But these things are a lot older than they were when I worked on them!
I think it was a 7000(same design transmission) I worked on once that only needed the reverse idler. I rigged up a miniature cylinder on a porta-power to push the shaft back. As I recall you can access the back side by removing the PTO housing.

Can't remember if it's a setscrew or tab with a capscrew in it that keeps the shaft from sliding in the housing. Gear slides freely on the shaft- engaged by the reverse fork when you put the trans. cover on.
