Hi, I've read a lot of the posts on this website trying to find exactly what I need and haven't so I became a member to post this. I have a 1954 WD-45 and I'm going to rebuild the motor. I have it completely disassembled and the head has been crack checked and shot peened to clean it. I want to get a little more power in the block and have read a very wide variety of options for this. I've read to use the 170 cam for more power or use the D17 cam with WD aluminum flat top pistons. Every kit I've looked at uses the same part number for WD/WD45/D17 pistons or camshafts etc. So hopefully somebody can appreciate my confusion with all this. I want to do it right the first time. And a little about me, I have rebuilt two auto engines so am new to tractor rebuilds and the sleeve design so I am very willing to take help, thank you.
