A guy is asking $1600 for a running wd45 with some lipstick, metal doesn't look bad. Gas tank is rusted, exhaust manifold needs new gasket, hose to 3 pt is leaking oil big time, No spring on seat. The thing that turned me off was all the tires were holding air but deep weather checks. Rear rim had been repaired. Without a pic, what do you think it's worth?

Yes, I was thinking $1000 tops. Too bad I didn't have a camera. 4 Tires were the biggest issue. I know for a fact just front tires are $100 each. What would rear tires cost?

My friend at just a gift that tractor is not for you. You would not be pleased till it was as good or better than new. There will be a lot of those soon at $2.50 corn. Also as good as the tractor is as dependabality effiency and it is one of the most awkard things to get on and off of.Of all the tractors I have used the easiest one to get on and off for me is the cockshutt (co-op)30.Thats not to consider the ford n series as I do not consider those as tractors.I have two friends whose fathers retired from farming, bough an n series to keep the place mowed well. They are both dead now from turnovers and ground driven pto pushing rotary mowers with clutch pushed in.

from that description, half that price would be my max, and that would be with usable rear tires. (they don't have to be great...just not look like they would fail immediately)

I live in $$ tractor land, and the AC's are the best deal here. dirt cheap, then the Farmalls-fairly cheap, then the always over-priced Fords, then the 'huh, HOW much?' Deeres.
Don't really understand it, the 4 AC's I've owned were pretty decent little tractors, all bought for far under $1k each.

As for them being "undependable and Awkward", I thoroughly Disagree...
Ask anyone who has USED them a lot and they will agree they are well designed and VERY dependable..
As for assessing that one's condition, that is your decision..
Pound-for-Pound, the WD-45 was a LOT of Tractor..

Bill,
I'm seeing $$$$ to just replace tires. You are taller than I. The guy selling the tractor is 6'2", 3" taller than I, and he said the same thing. His knee hit the hand clutch. He moved the seat back. The spring and shock was missing. Rusty tank, Cracked tires, good chance it will need a new intake/exhaust manifold and gaskets. The list goes on. If it were all fixed up it may be worth $1500.

I don't want to start any wars here, but nothing rides like my old IH C. The BOSS thinks it's the best ZTR mower and she grew up mowing grass on a sod farm.

I really don't need another tractor. Think I will pass on this one.

How are the battery charges?

Then you are saying it is NOT dependable??????? I stated as dependable as it is----------- it is akward. I found ours to be very dependable sorry about yours. Getting on and off as a chore tractor and long hours as in cultivating was a problem Occasionaly wanting to stand to relieve my cramped legs was also inconvienent.

Nope, I certainly did not mean to say they are or were not Dependable..!!
I never found them uncomfortable, but standing is not practical with them.
The WD-45's were our "Big" Tractors then and the 2-JD "B" tractors, the smaller ones..
Took me a long while to find anything to even compare them to, # for #...

Ron.
