how do you hook up a D17 diesel factory generator with power steering pump to a Shar Lynn steering unit?

A char-lynne pump assuming you are speaking of an aftermarket set up is going to use a separate belt. Most units came with a pulley that bolted on the front of the crankshaft. Not real familiar with a d17. If it had factory power steering you would simply make hoses. If you want it to be factory you a would have to get a different generator. The original bolted to the back of the generator.

I have a Factory PS D17 and it doesn't have a pump on the generator.
