Need Help with wd45 hydraulics

I just purchased my first wd45 with a new idea loader. I know the lever on the left side of the steering wheel is for the hydraulics. The lever only goes half way down and will not lower the loader or snap coupler. It seems as if the hydraulic pump is constantly building lift pressure. I put a valve in line so i can turn off pressure to the lift cylinders on the loader. I am just wondering if the pump needs to be rebuilt or something else is outta wack. I just ordered a repop owners manual off ebay. Just hoping I can get some help so I can use it this weekend to move some stuff around on my land.
Thanks
Zak

If everything (Linkage) is set correctly the lever should go all the way down.
May be a good idea to check the drain plug on the bottom of the Hyd. pump to see if it has any dirt in it.
May be that part of the linkage is binding..

If it has dirt and debris in it can I just run it with drain plug out to flush it for a couple seconds? Im gonna give it a shot tomorrow morning and Ill see what happens.

There is a lever arm back of the hydraulic pump will will come off on one end and when it does the hydraulic lift will act as you describe. You need to get a manual that shows how it should be to get it right or better yet look at a WD thats working correctly. Also the linkage is adjustable but most of the time its come off on the one end.

I would not "run it", with the drain plug out..just let it flush out some by gravity..

Look it over, the problem should be obvious if it is linkage..

Could be the setting (look for the big decal on side of battery
box) of the pump; screw 'C' in and B out for hold , other
setting for traction booster, etc.

Welcome to the AC world! Might as well start you off with some correct terminology....the Snap-Coupler is the bell-shaped housing under the tractor that the drawbar hooks into (with a "snap"). The lift arms on the rear of the tractor are used with lift arm latches to connect mounted equipment. Very commonly called snap couplers.

The I&T AC-11 Service manual has details on setting the hydraulic system. The Operator manual doesn"t get into internal details, but does address simple maintenance and settings, controls ID, etc.

You should not hear any pump action if the lift lever is half-way down. It"s only in the upper part of the quadrant that the pump should be operating. Might be a linkage issue. KISS formula- make sure linkage and settings are correct before ripping into the pump or valve.

So I adjusted the linkage according to the manual
and no change. Is there anyone in my area that
knows bout these. I am willing to pay someone to
help me. I am confusing myself with it and would
really like to get these hydraulics working
properly before winter. Thanks for all the help.
