I am looking at a AC190 (1964) and was wondering if the tractor came with a 540 or 1000 rpm pto, or if it has a two speed pto.
Thanks

My factory literature shows 540/1000 rpm pto for both the 190 and 190XT. "Continuous" pto driven directly off the engine was standard, while independent pto was an option.

I think by "continuous" they meant you clutched to first activate it, and then it was "live" via the Power Director (hand clutch). ie like the D series tractors....but I"ve never had one so don"t really know. Independent means you can start it at any time, wheels moving or not.

Literature does not show anything about switching shafts to utilize the 1000 rpm feature.

I found an operator manual for the 190....pto was EITHER 540 or 1000 from the factory. So they could come either way, but not both. Kind of a bummer, compared to others in the same hp range, like JD 4020, which had both.
