snap coupler 3 point wont stay up

greetings,
I have series 1 D15 with A.C. 3 pt adaptor on snap coupler hitch
(the one with bracket on drawbar for lower hitch arms). When I
raise the hitch it drops back down slowly if not heavy faster with
weight on hitch.

Have I missed an adjustment for the hitch to hold position (like
wd 45) OR do I have a valve problem allowing oil to leak past. if
so is this a hard fix?

Either the valve or internal hose leak or cylinder leakage.
Does the transmission/rear-end gain fluid? If so, it would be one of the latter causes.

To narrow it down; and if it's possible, raise the arms with tractor running, then hold the arms up with a chain or something. Shut tractor off.
Cap off the hyd line fitting (not the line itself) at the transfer valve on top of the 3-pt lift housing.
Release the arms. If it goes down as before, it's either the hose or cylinder that's leaking by.
Either the hose or the cylinder will require removing the 3pt housing. Even if it's the cylinder leaking, I'd replace the hose anyway while it's apart.

If it's not the hose or cylinder, then it's the valve inside the torque tube.

I had a d14 and it would hold the implement up for ever, never when down.

Until you lowered the hydraulic lever.

You have a leak in the system somewhere.

I have a D-19 that won't hold mounted equipment up. Was told the ball in the valve is not seating anymore.
