I have been running a 42" Howse bush hog on my B for 14 yrs, and seldom hear the govener open. I want a 5 ft mower, and wondered if my CA would have the power, to run it? Both have the same engine, and both engines have new rings and liners in them, with very few hours on them.

I still have a C here(it's for sale) which I put new rings in years ago. I added an after market 3 point hitch, and ran a light 5' Bush Hog with it. Maybe sometimes you couldn't get everything with it all the way down with the first pass, but that was never a problem for me. It has inside wheel weights all the way around. Even so, the front end was light.

Sounds like it might be good candidate for a 54" rotary cutter. I believe Massey and one other manufacturer offered a 54" so finding a used one might be a tad more difficult than the common run of the mill 60" - but possibly worth the effort nonetheless..

I run a 5 foot on my CA and it has enough power to do the job just fine. Some weight to keep the front end on the ground is needed with my setup .
