My WC 73953 (1938) has 17" rims round spokes riveted . Sadly had to replace rims so now welded spokes.
Do you know if and where I could get ribbed agricultural tires for these 17" 525. Running road tires now.
Back rims have been replaced have 24" 11.50 tires are a little narrow for rims.
Did the back rims come out with round spokes too?
I know that my father used steel rear wheel when first working hand cut 2nd grow forest, but have not been able to recover them.
When did flat spokes come in?
Hope you have time to answer questions from New Zealand , great to have more information on the "old Allis " which came to our family farm in 1954.
Cheers Marty

My WC parts book shows 17 inch rims used prior to WC-23529, after that would be the 5.50-16 disc wheel, with a couple of serial number breaks. I think that allows for the 6 bolt hub and the eventual 5 bolt hub.

My 1937 WC, sn 45391, has the round spoke rear wheels, with 16 inch round spoke fronts (not original). Rears are the same F&H wheels on some unstyled Farmall tractors. I don"t know of any use of flat spokes from the factory. The 11.25x24 rim/disc rears were used sn 59636 thru 81756. At 81757 AC went to the 28 inch rims.

There are no 17" rib type tires that I am aware of. People that have those rims are running what ever type tire they cab source, I think I read something about motor cycle tires?

JMS is correct that your tractor has all 4 wheels wrong on it. Should be 5 bolt disc in front and 24" disc in the back. Flat spokes were used on steel wheels and many have been cut off and rimmed for rubber.

Also, WC wheels will interchange with Farmall F20 and JD AR,BR tractors but the rims are different. Farmalls were 28", WC and JD were 24" but the hubs were different on them.

The illustrations and terminology in my parts book indicate steel wheels were spoke type, front and back.

That's right, flat spokes in back and round spokes in front. Even though the front 17" rims and the front steel wheels were both round spoke they used different hubs, different casting numbers, so you can tell if your rerimmed wheels were orignally steel or rubber.
