Allis G...cost to fix or not

OK guys, have done several tractors from mechanically right to refurbished to restored, but have only done one AC; a Series III D10 and while easy to work on it was a "Blue Bit@#" to find some parts for (still looking for fenders if anyone knows of any!!), but mostly JD, IH, Ford. I was given a G yesterday, but its rough and has been sitting outside for 20 plus years; The goods are: 3 rims are good, the hood is all in place and the engine is loose, I know the complete history, and its a G. The bads other than the normal carb, starter generator stuff: tires all shot, missing a fender, seat and steering wheel shot, in neutral but shifter frozen, other than the lift handle no mounting hardware for implements, gas tank extremely crusty inside. It does have a nice bullet light! LOL Question is this gonna be extraordinarily hard/expensive to parts source for? I"d like to redo it as I love a tractor I know the history on, and it was given to me by the son of the original owner because he likes what I have done with my other tractors, but I don"t want to open Pandora"s box for it either. As stated I really don"t have much experience with AC so hoping for some more educated opinions! Also can you still find plows for them? I always outfit my tractors with a compatible plow because I enjoy our plow days, but with tractors that take a specific plow it"s not as easy as having a couple 44 or Little Genius plows around or some Dearborns to switch from tractor to tractor. Thanks Pete

Most all parts can be found for a G, the tires can set you back as much as $800 depending on whats out there at the time, engine work can make or break ya on a G, getting it running right is the first order before spending money on other things. Wheels and sheet metal can be gotten on EBay. You got it right, leaves you more room to spend. As with all toys it's what your play budget can stand!

Yeah the price was right...just wanted to see about availability of parts mainly cuz of the issues I had on the D10...as long as rims can be had I gues I"ll delve in, tires are what they are...always expensive now days. TY

Shop around for the tires. There are many different prices for them. I bought 2 tires with tubes for $300 each from a local tire store. You will like that little "G" when you get it going. VERY EASY TRACTOR TO WORK ON.

If you're not in a hurry I'd do it. I have 2 and one came in boxes. I got one going fairly quick. The one in boxes was not complete. I don't spend a lot of time shopping for specific parts for it. Once in a while I'll hear of some parts/pieces for sale and buy them if I feel it's a good deal. I've been working on it for 3 years. I now have it complete but not running. The block was froze and busted. I waited a long time to find a good one but I now have one. I hope to get it running and working by next summer. I prefer to take my time and only buy original parts at a good price. The bad is that my shop is full of half done projects.
